Jewell C. Close, Sr., 77, 8124 Brooks, died yesterday in a Tampa hospital. a native of Buffalo, N.Y., he had lived in Tampa 30 years. He is survived by his wido, Mrs. Frances Close; two sons, J.C. Close Jr., Oregon, and C.J. Close, Tampa; one daughter, Mrs. Allison Daniels, North Miami Beach; one stepson, Roy Butler, St. Petersburg; one brother, Charles Close, Mount Dora; two sisters, Mrs. June Crepps and Mrs. Lillian Noblett, Miami, and five grandchildren.

John Davenport, pastor of the Northeast Methodist Church, officiationg. Interment will follow in Orange Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Jay Cross, Eugene Clark, William Falconer, and Wallace Pricherd.
