Funeral services for Ross Neal Rogers, 57, were held at Fort Graham Baptist Church in Hill County, north of Whitney, on Wednesday, Dec. 24, 2008, with Brother Allan Lane officiating. Interment was at Fairview Cemetery in Bronte, Texas.

Ross Rogers was born on Jan, 3, 1951, in Bronte, the son of Georgia Dell Cunningham and Leon Aldress Rogers. He passed away suddenly on Sunday, December 21, 2008.

He graduated from Waco High School and the "School of Hard Knocks." He was a member of Fort Graham Baptist Church, Hill County, Texas.

On Dec. 25, 1968, he married Jamie Niles at the Memorial Methodist Church, Waco, TX. The couple have three children. He accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior at an early age. He was baptized together with his wife, Jamie, and served in the Baptist Church. He had lived in Bronte, Waco, and at Lake Whitney. Rogers was a Master Mason in the George N. Denton #24 Lodge at Waco. He was a union carpenter, master builder of Longhorn Building Systems, and a millwright. He was a former treasurer of the local union, a little league baseball coach, and a deacon and grounds keeper of churches. Rogers enjoyed camping, deer hunting, gardening, antique collecting, visiting garage sales, and restoring old vehicles and tractors. He had an unwavering love for family and friends, was loyal, generous, trustworthy, nostalgic, tenacious, and full of faith, said a family member. In his death, may others find God's purpose in their life.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Leon and Georgia Rogers, and a brother, Royce Rogers.

Survivors include his wife, Jamie Niles Rogers; daughter, Jeanette Robinson and husband, Kevin; son, Randel Rogers; daughter, Amy Stafford and husband, Scott; six grandchildren: Kaytlin, Rosalee, Reece, Amanda, Neal, and Alora; and a sister, Joy Keele.

Pallbearers were Paul Tyson, Mike Fitzhugh, David Golden, Charles Golden, Scott Stafford, and Kevin Robinson.
