Hugh Carr immigrated first to Wisconsin about 1865 with his first wife, Margret McDonough, married 1860. The first two children were born in Ireland with the third being born in Wisconsin, 1866. The 4th child was born in Chickasaw County, Iowa 1871. There were a total of 9 children. Hugh married Mary Traynor 1880 after the death of Margret 1876. Hugh was a farmer and a Catholic.
