BREMEN - Sherry Ann George, 56, of 10 Miami Trail, Bremen, died at 4:36 a.m.
Friday, December 19, 2008, in Hospice House, South Bend, where she had been
admitted Sunday after a courageous 6-month battle with cancer. She was born on
January 11, 1952, in Goshen, IN, to Ralph and May Darlene (Neff) Hawkins. She
married Dale George on September 25, 1970, in Nappanee. He survives along with her
daughter, Brittney Lynn (Adam) Jones, Mishawaka; her mother, May Darlene Hawkins,
Nappanee; and a brother, Danny Ralph Hawkins, Altus, OK. She was preceded in death
by her father, Ralph Hawkins, and a brother, Ralph Edward Hawkins Jr. Sherry lived
her lifetime in the Nappanee and Bremen area. She was a 1970 graduate of
NorthWood High School. She was a housewife and had been a secretary for Equipment
Services. She also did cleaning for Markley Cleaning Service. Sherry enjoyed
gardening, and loved animals and the outdoors. Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. today
in Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee. Funeral services will be at
11 a.m. Monday in the funeral home. Burial will be at Hepton Union Cemetery.
