Mr. Andrews was born Sept. 28, 1868 in Peoria, Ill. He came to California in 1890, settling in the town of Sisson (now Mt. Shasta) where he entered the clothing business. In 1900 he moved to Chico where he established a clothing store known as “Andrews and Thomas.”
The partnership of the store was dissolved in 1920 at which time Mr. Andrews purchased his own store known as the Charles A. Andrews Clothing Store, which was located on Second Street. He operated this business until 1930 when he sold out and moved to Paradise, where he built his home.
In 1945 he came back to Chico to manage his real estate properties and has lived here since.
Mr. Andrews is survived by one son, Charles, local attorney, a sister, Mrs. Amanda McNeil, of Oakland, and two grandchildren, Anthony and Gregory Andrews, of Chico.
Funeral services will be held in the Brusie Funeral Home Friday at 11 a.m. Interment will follow in the Masonic section of Chico Cemetery.
