Evva LaMar Marshall Meldrum died May 17, 1991, after a brief illness in Sandy UT. Funeral services were held on Tuesday, May 21, in the Afton Tabernacle. Interment was in the Afton Cemetery.
LaMar was born July 15, 1908 at Upalco UT. She came to Star Valley many years ago when she and her husband, Dee, opened the first Gephart store. After obtaining her teaching degree at Utah State University, she taught for 17 , 14 of which were at Star Valley High School. She and her husband shared a passion for fishing and big game hunting. She had spent the last few winters in St. George and summers in Afton. She was an active member of The church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held many positions throughout her life. She published a book entitled "The Girl On the Milk-White Horse".
She is survived by two daughters; Laura Anderson of Salt Lake City and Mary Louise Lisota of Afton; six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Two brothers and two sisters preceded her in death.
