Lee Knight Lively was born in Anderson County, Texas to Zechariah Thomas Knight and Sarah Jane Knight. She was the ninth of 11 children. The first 6 (Calvary Ford Knight, Susannah M. Knight, Louisa C. Knight, Luther A. Knight, William A. Knight, and Mary Polly Knight) were born in Alabama. The next one, Henry Z. Knight, was born in Mississippi. The family moved to Parkersville in Anderson County, Texas before the 1850 census. It was there that Lee Knight, Nancy Jane Knight Potter, and Martha Thomas Knight Culverwell, were born. After the 1860 census the family disperses. Lee, Nancy Jane and Martha are considered orphans and no mention is made of the other siblings or parents. Lee worked for awhile as a household servant.

Lee Knight married Jordan Barnett Lively in Milam County on August 24, 1875. They had 8 children but only 3 boys (Tollison, Walter, and Charlie) lived to adulthood. Jordan died in 1897. On September 15, 1900 Lee married A. S. Stewart. She only lived another 2 years before her death on January 3, 1902 of pneumonia.
.
Tollison (or Toll for short) married Eva Barker (in 1904 but she and the baby died in 1905 during childbirth). He then married Kate Sprott in 1909. They had 8 children (Curtis and Lilly Mae died in infancy). The other 6 are Ruth, Lee, Estelle, Charlie O, Clarence, and Florence. Toll and Kate are buried in the Davilla Cemetery.

Walter married Mattie and had 2 children (Thelma and Bernice). He worked for the railroad. He divorced Mattie and married Ollie Patton. After Ollie died, he remarried Mattie. Walter, Ollie, Mattie, Thelma and Bernice are all buried in the Laurel Land Cemetery in Dallas, Texas.

Charlie was 11 when Lee died. He lived with Lee's sister, Nancy Jane Potter and her son Charlie Potter. He married Chattie Bryant in 1918. They had 4 children (Eloise, Calvin, Lafon, and Marie). Charlie and Chattie are buried in the Oak Hill Cemetery in Cameron, Texas.

Note - An additional sister to Lee Knight is Susannah Knight Tucker Eatmon. She died May 24, 1924 and is buried in the Akers Cemetery in Callisberg, Cooke County, Texas. Attempts are being made to determine what happened to the other siblings.
