Mina Carherine Wirth, 94, died Friday, Oct. 25, 1996, at North Big Horn Hospital in Lovell after an extended illness.

She was born June 3, 1902, in Byron, Wyo., the daughter of Francis X. and Automella Sargent Wirth. She was the second child born after the town of Byron was established. When she was 3 years old, her father died leaving her mother to raise a family of seven children.

Mina worked at the Byron Post Office for a time and was known as a excellent seamstress. She also devoted many hours caring for the elderly. She never married.

She is survived by one sister, Erma Jensen of Byron, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Friday, Nov. 1, 1996, at 2 p.m. in the Byron Chapel of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints with Bishop Elden Sanders officiating.

Burial will follow in the Byron Cemetery. Haskell Funeral Home of Lovell is in charge of arrangements.
