Mr. Barker was born July 31, 1929, in Ashland, Ky., a son of the late David N. and May Edwards Barker.
He was a carman foreman with the C&O Railroad, a member of the Brotherhood of Railway Carmen of America and was a United States Army veteran.
Surviving are two daughters, Vicki Hager of Greenup, Ky., and Stephanie Estep of Ashland; three sons, Kenneth Barker of Ashland, Mark Barker of Flatwoods, Ky., and Matthew Barker of Wurtland; one sister, Sarah M. Barker of Ashland; five grandchildren, Phillip Hager, Brandon Estep, Samantha Barker, Wesley Estep and Carrie Atkinson; three great-grandchildren; and special friend, Peggy Sue Watkins of Portsmouth, Ohio.
