Jobatha was born in Charleston, SC, September 11, 1926, the daughter of Samuel Warren Garvin and Caroline Elizabeth Platt Garvin. She was a member of First Baptist Church of St. Andrews. Surviving are 3 daughters, Eomy Rhoden and her husband Bill of Starke, FL, Bobbie Smith of Charleston, SC, and Gail Davis of Charleston, SC; 1 sister, Bessie Sistare of Ravenel, SC; 1 brother, Louie Garvin of Johns Island, SC; 6 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild. Jobatha was preceded in death by a son, Preston Mazzell. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Southern Care of North Charleston, 2070 Northbrook Blvd., North Charleston, SC 29406.
