Dorothea E. Wilson, 85, of Wadsworth, died Monday, June 6, 2005, at Altercare of Wadsworth. She was born May 4, 1920, in Ashland, Ohio, to Patrick J. McInerney and Isa I. (Bevington) McInerney. She married Oliver C. Messmore on May 11, 1940; he passed away in 1992. She was a homemaker. She was a member of the Eagles 2117 in Wadsworth and the Moose of Wadsworth. She enjoyed baking and cooking, playing cards, and dancing.
She will be deeply missed by daughters, Barbara Sherwin of Wadsworth, Patricia (Stan Gaudeau) Whitt of Colorado, Iletha (Rod) Poolman of Marcellus, Mich.; son, Dennis Messmore of Norton; nine grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren; sisters, Gladys Stevens of Lodi, Blanche (Leroy) Fleetwood of California, and Janice (Bob) Switzer of Ashland. Her parents; brothers, Patrick, Charles, Lloyd, and John; and sisters, Mary Simpson, Nora Cline, and Theresa Fritz, died previously.
Services will be Friday, June 10, 2005, at 11 a.m. at Roberts Funeral Home, Hillcrest Chapel, with Rev. Jonathan Rumburg officiating. Burial will be at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. Friends may call Thursday, June 9, from 6 to 8 p.m. Roberts Funeral Home, Hillcrest Chapel, in Wadsworth, is handling the arrangesments.
