GOLD HILL - Ophelia Galloway Taylor Morgan, 83, of Gold Hill, passed away Nov. 4, 2010, at Rowan Regional Medical Center, Salisbury.

Mrs. Morgan was born April 28, 1926, in Richmond County, a daughter of the late Toye E. Galloway, and Mazalee Chapman Galloway. She was a graduate of Landis High School and attended Lenoir-Rhyne College.

Mrs. Morgan worked for Cannon Mills, Plant 4 for 29 years in the weave room and retired from PPG Industries after 15 years as a twist operator.

Mrs. Morgan was a former member of Gold Hill Baptist Church and a member of East Corinth Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two husbands, Mr. Boyd Lee Taylor and Jasper C. Morgan; three brothers, Ed Galloway, Bunk Galloway and Jack Galloway; and one sister, Mrs. Lavada Doby.

Survivors include three sons, Steve Taylor and wife Nancy of Gold Hill, Robert Taylor and Roger Taylor and wife Donna of Salisbury. Three daughters survive, Mrs. Rita Chastine and husband Bob of Salisbury, Mrs. Sherry Kocsis and husband Mike of Alexis and Tina Mae Taylor of Gold Hill; four brothers, Darrell Galloway of Rockwell, Lester and Earl Galloway of Richfield and Allen Galloway of Gold Hill; three sisters, Helen Brady of Gold Hill, Edith Almond of Albemarle and Gaynell Funderburk of Kannapolis. Ten grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild also survive.

Service and Visitation: The funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday at East Corinth Baptist Church conducted by the Rev. Johnny Daniel, pastor, and the Rev. Tony Parsons, pastor of Gold Hill Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at East Corinth Baptist Church from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday.

Memorials: In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to East Corinth Baptist Church, 12510 Stokes Ferry Road, Gold Hill, NC 28071.
