JAMIE LOREN HICKS
Jamie Loren Hicks, 28, of South Roxanna, formerly of Granite City, died at 5:38 a.m., Jan. 12, 2008 at his residence.
He was born June 2, 1979 in Granite City. Mr. Hicks was a 1996 graduate of Granite City High School; was employed as an armed security officier in St. Louis; attended Lewis & Clark Community College in Godfrey; was a avid St. Louis Cardinal, Cleveland Indians and Kansas City Chiefs fan; enjoyed playing poker and drawing; and a U.S. Army veteran.
Survivors include two children, Jaymen L. Hicks, Ciara J. Hicks and their mother, Charity Ratty, all of South Roxanna; his father, Kenny L. (Natalie) Hicks of Gladewater, Texas; his mother, Cora J. Hawkes of Fairview Heights; two sisters, Tahisha R. Hicks of Fairview Heights and Tiffany M. Hicks of Granite City; two stepbrothers, Chad A. Mercer and Ryan J. Holt, both of Gladewater, Texas; and his paternal grandparents, Loren and Lou Hicks of Gladewater, Texas.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today, Jan. 16, at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road in Granite City.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 17, at the funeral home with the Rev. Austin Caldwell officiating.
Burial will be in Sunset Hill Memorial Estates in Glen Carbon.
Memorials may be made to the family for a memorial fund to be established at a later date and will be accepted at the funeral home.
