Finzel,Garrett Co.,Maryland --- James Allen McKenzie, 94, of formerly of Finzel Road, died Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2001, at the Frostburg Village Nursing Care Center.
Born Oct. 3, 1907, in Greenville Township of Somerset County, Pa., he was the son of the late Thomas A. and Cora M. (Steinley) McKenzie. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Naomi Linderman and Verna Caton; and one brother, Thomas F. McKenzie. He was a member of Saint Michael's Catholic Church, Frostburg.
Surviving are his wife, Clara M. McKenzie; one son, Donald James McKenzie, Finzel; two daughters, Dorothy V. Sutherland, Worthington, Ohio, and Susan K. Evans, Rawlings; five grandchildren, Victor Ruehl, Donald McKenzie Jr., David McKenzie, Phillip Evans, and Angela Evans; four great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Durst Funeral Home, P.A., 57 Frost Ave., Frostburg, on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Michael's Catholic Church on Saturday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Father Paul Byrnes as celebrant.
Interment will be in the Finzel Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Harold McKenzie, Charlie McKenzie, Dale McKenzie, Harold Rosenberger, Jim Preston, and Clifford Caton Jr.
