Joyce R. Birch, 75, Frankfort, passed away Nov. 12, 2008, at St. Vincent Frankfort Hospital.
Mrs. Birch was a 1950 graduate of Shortridge High School in Indianapolis. She was a member of the Women of the Moose, and retired as the office manager at WILO Radio after 20 years. She also worked for the Clinton County Division of Family & Children before retiring.
She was born Dec. 7, 1932, in Louisville, Ky., to Harold and Myrtle (Hawes) Raidt. She married George "Buddy" Strode in 1950 and he preceded her in death in 1955. She married Fred Birch Sept. 14, 1992, and he preceded her in death on Dec. 8, 1999.
Surviving is a son, James A. Strode (Margie) of Frankfort; a daughter, Sandy Bailey (Marty) of Frankfort; 10 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren; three stepchildren, Tom Birch of Frankfort, Debbi Leitzel (John) of Noblesville, and Sharon English of Reno, Nev.; one brother, Joe Raidt of Indianapolis.
She was preceded in death by her husband, two sons, a daughter, a grandson and a brother.
