Elza Prowell Dies
Lebo -- Elza R. Prowell, a retired farmer who had lived at Osage City for the past three years, died this morning at his home. He farmed near Olivet for many years. Funeral Services will be held in the Jones Funeral Home Friday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Lee Lohmeyer officiating. Burial will be in Lincoln Cemetery. Elza R. Prowell was born in Lebo, March 3, 1895, the son of Andrew and Flora Mills Prowell. He married Anna Grace Lafferty February 21, 1917, at Burlington and she died September 23, 1958.

Thru his mother, Flora Mills Prowell, he was a Descendant of Quakers, Benoni Mills, the illegitimate son of Thomas Mills & his niece, Charity Mills--Charity was the daughter of Rachel Harrold & Hur Mills who was a brother of Thomas Mills.
Thru his father, Andrew Henry Prowell, he was a Descendant of Smith County Tennessee Plantation owner, Josiah Joseph Baird and Smith County Tennessee landowner, Paschal Wright and his wife, Elizabeth Lawley Wright, daughter of Stephen Lawley.
