Walter Dale Cole, Sr. , 72, of Warsaw, Va., died March 18, 1997 in Rappahannock General Hospital, Kilmarnock. He was a retired Mechanic Shop Foreman for Virginia Department of Transportation. He was an Army Veteran of World War 11, and a member of the VFW # 7167, Warsaw. He was survived bt his wife, Irma Warwick Cole, two daughters Betty Cole Rice of Lottsburg, Doris Cole Westman of Hague, Va. and two sons, William C. "Spider" Cole, Farnham. and Walter Dale Cole, Jr. of Warsaw. Also surviving was a sister, Iva Cole Taylor of Callao, a step-brother, Thomas Fisher of Fredericksburg, a step-sister Virginia Fisher Webb of Lottsburg, six grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. Services were at 2:00 p.m. March 22, 1997 on a Saturday, at Jones-Ash Funeral Home, with Rev. James B. Adams officiating. He was buried in Totuskey Baptist Church Cemetery. A VFW Memorial Service was held at 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Pallbearers were Stanley Bell, Donnie Bell, Earl King, Calvin Keyser, Evans Lewis, Gregory Lewis, Danny Balderson, and Ronnie Lewis.
