Private First Class Britt was a member of the Light Machine Gun Platoon, Company H, 3rd Battalion, 1st Marines, 1st Marine Division, having enlisted 18 September 1951. He was Killed in Action while defending Hills 111 and 126 in the "Boulder City Area", Korea on July 26, 1953. Private First Class Britt was awarded the Purple Heart, the Combat Action Ribbon, the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Presidential Unit Citation and the Republic of Korea War Service Medal.

Seth was killed by small arms fire during the last ground action by Marines in the Korean War. He almost came home.
