Cumberland,Maryland --- Alma Mabel England, 92, of Cumberland, died Sunday, May 30, 2004, at Allegany County Nursing Home.
Born Oct. 2, 1911, in Cumberland, she was the daughter of the late Charles Franklin and Sarah (Whalley) England. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Lola England and Grace Brady; three brothers, Paul England, Joseph England and John England. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Ms. England was a payroll clerk for Walter N. Yoder & Sons. She was retired from Great American Tea Company, South Cumberland Planning Mill and MSI Construction Company. She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church and a former Sunday school teacher of the Phalathia Class; former member of the Republican Club and was a member of the Eastern Star.
Surviving are one niece, Robin L. Hall and husband David, Cumberland; one nephew, Leon G. England and wife Mildred, Cumberland; one sister-in-law, Kathryn M. England, Cumberland; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland, on Tuesday from 2 to 4 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Wednesday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Fred Iser officiating.
Interment will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.
