Amanda E. Rives married Augustus C. Baker on January 13, 1860. They had at least two children: Mary "Mollie" Ann Baker and Truman A. Baker. A.C. was a member of Company H., Cobb's Legion (Calvary), CSA, during the Civil War. He is not in the 1870 census with Amanda and the children. His Civil War records don't show that he was killed in action and do show a pardon in 1865 (as most CSA soldiers received eventually). I don't know if A. C. died between 1865 and 1870 or if he in some way disappeared. Amanda referred to herself as a widow in 1870 and applied for a Widow's pension.
