Ashley Monica Merritt, of James Island, age 35, died at home on December 30, 2005, after a long illness. She had resided in Las Vegas for the past twelve years.
She is survived by her mother Virginia "Ginny" Merritt of James Island, her father and stepmother Rod & Meg Merritt of Goose Creek, her sister Kimberly Merritt of New York, her brother and sister-in-law Roderick and Brandy Merritt of New York, her grandmothers Virginia Hamilton-Hartzog and Sara Merritt of James Island, her uncles and aunts Davis and Kathy Merritt of Summerville, John and Cathy Merritt of Illinois and Paul "Rusty" Hamilton Jr. of James Island, her niece Ashtyn Merritt of Columbia.
At bedside at the time of her passing were family members and close friends Ashley Lunan of Columbia, SC, and Chuck Turner of Las Vegas, NV.
Private graveside service will be held at Holy Cross Cemetery on James Island.
