Beloved Woman is Called Home

The people of Marietta were much grieved Friday 10 July, when it was learned that Mrs. Annie E. Bolton had passed away at 2 o'clock PM.

The death of this splendid and much loved woman cast a gloom over the entire community.
Mrs. Bolton was 80 years of age on 11 March and had enjoyed splendid health up to about 4 months ago, when she was compelled to take to her bed and gradually grew weaker until the end came.
For many years she had been a devoted member of the Baptist Church, her perfect faith in her Redeemer had never faltered, but seemed to grow stronger with passing years.
In her friendships she was loyal and steadfast. She was a most devoted Mother her whole life being wrapped up in her children and grandchildren. Words cannot picture the sorrow and sadness that came into the home, when she was called away. The grief stricken family must find consolation in the knowledge that "Grandma" is resting in the arms of Jesus and that there is a happy reunion awaiting them on the other shore, where they will be reunited for all time.
Mrs. Bolton is survived by one Brother, Bro. J. S. Sumners, three Step Sons, W. B. of Marietta and R. L. of Booneville and W. J. of Memphis; four Daughters, Mrs. W. R. Caveness, Mrs. E. K. Bennett and Mrs. W. G. Hester of Marietta and Mrs. A. E. Anderson of Booneville and besides these are 54 Grandchildren and 24 Great Grandchildren.
For the past 16 years she had made her home with her daughter Mrs. W. G. Hester.
The funeral services were conducted by Bro. J. D. Thompson, Pastor of the Booneville Baptist Church and Bro. J. V. Bennett, Pastor of the Methodist Church, after which the body was laid to rest in the Massey Cemetery.
The pallbearers were W. R. Gilley, G. T. Massey, J. M. Moreland, A. C. Hopper, S. A. Tyra and A. L. Walker.
