Funeral services for Olney (Chummy) Phillips, R.R. 1, Coatesville, were conducted, Saturday afternoon, from the Weaver Funeral Home, there, with the Rev. Walter R. Bartholomew officiating for the rites. He died, May 21, in the Lake View Nursing Home at the age of 89. Burial was in the Coatesville Cemetery.

He was born, Aug. 4, 1879, on the farm where he had lived his entire lifetime. He was married, Oct. 6, 1917, to the former Hazel Figg who preceded him in 1966.

A farmer his lifetime, he was a charter member of the Coatesville Masonic Lodge and a 50-year-member.

Survivors include nine children, Mrs. Agnes Burroff, Dallas, Tex.; Mrs. Thelma Clugh, Lafayette; Mrs. Lela Mae Smythe, Frank and Clifford Phillips, all of Coatesville; Mrs. Ruth E.Wiggins, Pendleton; Mrs. Dorotha Stockley, Thailand; Herbert Phillips, Canton, Ohio; and Walter Phillips, Greencastle; one brother, Aldus Phillips, also of Coatesville; 21 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
