Obituary: Palatka FL Times-Herald, September 20, 1918
Mr. Perry Odom Markey, a former prominent wholesale merchant of this city, died last Monday at his home in Lakeland, following an extended illness and recent operation. The remains were sent to Lake Butler for interment Wednesday.
Mr. Markey had many friends in Palatka and vicinity, and his untimely demise is generally deplored by the community. (Times-Herald Obituary dtd Friday, 20 Sep 1918.)
