Mother's Death Follows Shortly After Daughter's
A few hours following the news of the tragic death of her daughter, Mrs. M B Bennett died Wednesday morning, presumably from shock, at her home near Houston. Her daughter, Mrs. Doshie Austin, was fatally burned Tuesday morning at the home of her daughters, Mrs. Charlie Thompson, by falling in the fire.
Mrs. Bennett seemed in perfect health until she heard of her daughter's death, when she became suddenly ill from a heart attack, dying in a few hours, almost 24 hours to the minute after Mrs. Austin's death. Her funeral was held the next day, following Mrs. Austin's, at the same cemetery, Pleasant Ridge, conducted by the same minister, Rev. W C Stewart, pastor of the Houston Baptist Church.
Mrs. Bennett leaves her husband, and two daughters, Mrs. Lee Davis and Mrs. Rush Hamby; sixteen grandchildren and thirty-two great grandchildren.
