Anna Mae Candies, 89, a native and resident of Raceland, died Friday, Dec. 19, 2008.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to funeral time Monday at St. Mary's Nativity Catholic Church in Raceland. Mass will be at 1 p.m. at the church, with burial in the church cemetery.

She is survived by two daughters, Patricia C. Daigle and husband, Jerry, and Connie C. Breaux and husband, Roddy; two step-children, L.T. Candies and Nelda Candies; two brothers, Joseph Autin and Steven Autin; six grandchildren, Richie, Lena, Hattie, Amy, Haily and Caleb; three step-grandchildren, Barbara, Nelda and Wade; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Ludwig "Doc" Candies; her parents, Clovis and Enola Bourgeois Autin; one son, Richard Candies; seven brothers, Ewell, Uric, Ernest, Ernest Orie, Whitney "T.B.", Wilbur and Kearney; four sisters, Emma, Eula, Rose and Enola; and two step-grandchildren, Anthony and Donna.

She was Catholic and a parishioner of St. Mary's Nativity Catholic Church.

Samart-Mothe Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
