EAST LIVERPOOL - MRS. ELIZA M. TOWNLEY EVANS, 95, of East Liverpool, died Saturday, December 20, 2008 at 5:55 p.m. at the Pepperberry Suites at Foxcrest following a brief illness.

Born November 28, 1913, in East Liverpool, she was a daughter of the late Arthur C. and Louisa Jackson Townley. A resident of this area all of her life, she was a member of the St. Stephens Episcopal Church in East Liverpool where she taught Sunday school and was a member of the Alter Guild, the Woman's Circle and the Vestry.

For 20 years she worked in the travel department of the AAA Columbiana County Motor Club until retiring in 1975. She was also a member of the Beaver Valley Gem and Mineral Club, the Freeway Ramblers, the Business and Professional Women's Club, the Buckeye Rovers, the East Liverpool Yacht Club and the Rainbow's End Camping Club.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Robley W. Evans on October 14, 1996; and a brother, Arthur Townley in 1947.

Survivors include two daughters, Joyce E. Sutton, and her husband Richard, of Ft. Myers, Florida, and Marjorie L. Gibbs, and her husband Gary, of Chester. There are 6 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Friends may call Monday afternoon and evening at the Dawson Funeral Home where the family will be present from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Rev. J. Jeffrey Baker will conduct a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at St. Stephen's Episcopal Church.

Burial will be at Columbiana County Memorial Park.
