Shawn Marie Rhoad, 32, died Saturday, November 16, 2002 at Roper Hospital in Charleston. She was born April 15, 1970 in Charleston, SC, educated at Nativity Catholic School and was a 1988 graduate of Bishop England High School. Shawn was a certified teller at Wachovia, and was later employed by Check Mate Financial Services. She is survived by her mother Barbara L. Rhoad of James Island, father Frank H. Rhoad of James Island, step-mother Debra L. Rhoad of North Charleston; brother Christian A. Rhoad; two sisters: Leah A. Rhoad and Morgan E. Rhoad; several aunts and uncles, many cousins and a host of friends. The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 P.M. Monday, November 18, 2002 at McAlister-Smith Funeral Home, DOWNTOWN CHAPEL, 150 Wentworth Street. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, November 19, 2002 in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, James Island. Memorials may be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, SC Chapter, 1247 Lake Murray Blvd., Irmo, SC 29063.
