Son of Alexander Judkins, Sr. and Lucinda M. (Beasley) Hunt

Enlisted in the C.S.A. in 1861 as a Pvt. in Co., B. of the 3rd. Inf. Battalion of the Barnesville Blues, George M. McDowell as Captain of the company and Col. M. A. Stovall commanding the the battalion. Pvt. James Lawrence Hunt and his brother, Maj., John T. Hunt were in the same company until 1863 when when Maj. Hunt was transferred to Gen. W. B. Bate's brigade and this is when the brothers were separated.
