FORSTER - On 3rd October 1938, at the Public Hospital, Pahiatua, Martin D. J. Forster, dearly beloved husband of Annie Forster

Obituary A Keen Horticulturist.
The death of Mr Martin D. J. Forster, of Upper Woodlands Road, Woodville, occurred in the Pahiatua Public Hospital Monday morning, after a brief illness, came as a great shock to his relatives and friends. Mr Forster was a comparatively young man. A son of the late Mr G. A. Forster, of Halcombe, the deceased had lived in the Woodville district for the past 16 years. He was a very industrious settler and farmed on scientific lines. In this respect his property was an object lesson. He successful and scientific farmer and also a keen horticulturist, having been a member of the Woodville Horticultural Society during his residence and a grower and student of both flowers and vegetables. He was a vice-president and committeeman of the local Horticultural Society, by which he will be much missed. Originally, his holding was one of the poorest in the district, but he raised it to a high state of productivity by the adoption of practical ideas and great industry. He was a sterling type of settler, well known and liked by many for his courtesy and fineness of character and also was noted for his enthusiasm for anything he undertook. His passing will be deeply regretted by all who knew him and much sympathy will be extended to the relatives. He leaves a widwo who is a daughter of Mr and Mrs G. W. Revell, of Onewhero (Pukekohe) and one young son.

Funeral Notice The friends of the late Martin D. J. Forster are respectfully invited to attend his funeral, which will leave his late residence, Upper Woodlands Road, Woodville, to-day (Tuesday), October 4th 1938, at 2 p.m., for the Woodville Cemetery.
