- At St Andrew's Church, Palmerston North, on February 10th, 1945, by Rev R. Warnock, Jeannie Elizabeth (W.A.A.F.), youngest daughter of mr A. F. Stevenson, of 36 Alfred Street, Palmerston North and the late Mrs Stevenson, to Sapper Ronald Mathieson (N.Z.E.F.), second son of Mr and Mrs Charles Forbes of Woodville

His excellency, the Governor-General, paid an unofficial visit to Woodville last Wednesday accompanied by his A.D.C., Captain the Honorable D. E. A. Winn. In company of Mr Charles Forbes (Mayor) they spent the time fishing. His Excellency later expressed his pleasure at the quiet happiness of the afternoon
