Andres Baez, 97, of Brooklyn, N.Y. passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2008.
Mr. Baez was born and raised in Ponce, Puerto Rico, and had resided in Brooklyn for the past 50 years. He was the son of the late Irene and Pablo Baez, and the brother of the late Cristina Vel-azquez and Marcial Baez. He enjoyed baseball, playing dominoes, Spanish music, and, most of all, not having any children of his own, he enjoyed taking care of his nieces, nephews and extended family. He was a kind-hearted man that was loved by many.
He is survived by his nieces and nephews, Dorothy Rios, Irene and Tony Gaglio, Daisy and Greg Snipe, Jerry and Mary Velazquez, Will and Linda Velazquez, and Robert and Mimi Vel-azquez; as well as many great-nieces and nephews.
His funeral liturgy will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Monday in the Immaculate Heart of Mary, 410 S. Eighth St., Vineland, with burial to follow in the Siloam Cemetery of Vineland.
Relatives and friends will be received from 9:30 to 11 a.m. on Monday at the Pancoast Funeral Home, 676 S. Main Road, Vineland.
