Old Resident Kicked
A man named Andy O'Mara, an old resident, was kicked in the abdomen yesterday and sent to the Pahiatua Hospital to-day in a very serious condition.

Woodville Examiner, 29 April 1913
Obituary
We regret to record the death of the late Mr Andrew O'Mara, who passed away in the Pahiatua Hospital on Saturday afternoon.
The late Mr O'Mara, who was 61 years of age, was born in Ireland and emigrated to New Zealand, arriving Woodville about twenty-five years ago. He was a ganger on the railway in the Gorge and obtained a section in the Village Settlement on it being opened. He has resided there ever since, though he drew a section in the Hall Block. He disposed of this some time ago and had been latterly employed on general laboring work. He was kicked by a horse last Thursday, but the circumstances are not very clear though. It is supposed to have been by his own horse where it was tethered on the section next to the bowling green. He was put to bed in the Club Hotel as soon as possible by Constable Mahoney. The next day he was sent to the Pahiatua Hospital, where he succumbed on Saturday afternoon. Dr Dawson considered there was not occasion for an inquest as the deceased died from shock.
Mr O'Mara was a widower and left four children, two sons and two daughters, both of the latter being comfortably married. Mr O'Mara died intestate.
