Funeral services for Stacey Lynn Garcia, 32, of 31 Westwood Drive Massena, will be held on Monday, December 22, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. in the First United Methodist Church in Massena. Interment will take place in Calvary Cemetery, Massena, at the convenience of the family. Friends are invited to call at Phillips Memorial Home , 64 Andrews St., Massena, NY on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Phillips Memorial Home. Stacey went to be with her Lord on Thursday, December 18, 2008 at the Massena Memorial Hospital in Massena after suffering from a pulmonary embolism.

She is survived by her husband, Jason J. Garcia; daughter, Megan Garcia at home; her parents, Myron and Cindy Shirley of Massena; sister and brother-in-law, Michelle and Thomas Blair of Massena; grandparents, Allen and Beryl Shirley of Massena; father- and mother-in-law, Richard and Linda Garcia of Waddington; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Scott and Karen Garcia of Athens, NY; and nieces and nephews Josh and Julia Blair of Massena, and Cassidy, Carly and Max Garcia of Athens. Stacey was predeceased by her grandparents, John and Leona Kellogg.

She was born on November 7, 1976 in Massena, the daughter of Myron and Cindy (Kellogg) Shirley. Stacey graduated from Massena Central School in 1994, and then graduated from Mater Dei College.

She married Jason Garcia on September 19, 1998 at the First United Methodist Church in Massena. She was employed at Linder Vet Clinic as a secretary and was also the manager at Blair Sports in Massena.

Stacey loved to attend her daughter's sporting events and loved to watch her nephew's hockey games. She was very devoted to her family and loved her animals, especially her cats, "Pocket" and "Flick". Stacey will always be remembered for her smile and positive attitude.

Stacey was a cancer survivor of Lypo Sarcoma. She was very proud of the birth of her beautiful daughter Megan on August 28, 1999.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the St. Lawrence County SPCA/Humane Society.
