Floyd Dale Walker was born on December 31, 1946, in Prairie Grove, Arkansas, to Sherman Francis and Opal Mae (Mounce) Walker. He departed this life on Friday, May 25, 2007, in Pryor, Oklahoma, at the age of 60 years, 4 months, and 25 days. Dale grew up in and attended schools in Altus, Tahlequah, and Tulsa. He moved to Locust Grove in 1978 and had also lived previously in Kansas City, Missouri and Wichita, Kansas. On December 31, 1994, at Jody Russell's house in Locust Grove, Tracy Lee Spencer and Floyd Dale Walker were united in marriage. Dale worked as a plumber and belonged to the musician's union. He was a talented drummer that loved playing country-rock music. He also loved to fish and sing. He was a true artist, not just musically, but he was also gifted in making Native American crafts. He will be missed dearly by his friends and family. Dale is survived by: his wife: Tracy, of the home; 1 step-son: Dustin Colt Spencer of Tulsa, Oklahoma; 4 brothers: Eldee Walker and Wife Sue of West Siloam Springs, Oklahoma, James Walker and wife (Jane) of Kansas City, Missouri, Harold Dean "Buster" Walker and wife Trish) of Kansas City, Missouri, and Tommy Walker and wife Susan of Kansas City, Missouri; 1 sister: Glenda Cessor and husband Sal of Camden, Arkansas; 1 half-sister: Fran Joice and husband Junior of Peggs, Oklahoma; Aunt: Louise Mounce of DeQueen, Arkansas; Uncle: Bill Mounce of Locust Grove, Oklahoma; other relatives and a host of friends. Dale was preceded in death by: his parents and 1 brother: Don Walker. Funeral services were held 2:00 P.M., Tueday, May 29, 2007, at the First United Methodist Church in Locust Grove, Oklahoma. Tommy Walker and Reverend Rob Pierce officiated. Burial followed at the Rose Cemetery in Rose.
