KEESEVILLE -- Dianne Marie Dorr, 61, of Prospect Road, Keeseville, died unexpectedly, Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2008, at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh.
She was born in Plattsburgh, June 10, 1947, the daughter of Walter and Catherine (Dapo) Mousseau. Dianne was a 1965 graduate of Keeseville High School. She then participated in the nursing program through CV-TEC and later graduated from Our Lady of Victory Secretarial school. She worked at Syracuse University Hospital, the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh, LeClerc Corp., Suburban Propane and lastly Northern Parts and Service, where she retired from in 2003.
Dianne enjoyed gardening, reading and music, but her true love was helping people. She will be remembered as being a very loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and sister.
Survivors include her husband of 40 years, George Dorr, whom she married June 8, 1968, at St. John's Church in Keeseville; one daughter, Melissa Dorr of Keeseville; one son and daughter-in-law, Steven and Jennifer Dorr of Montana; and beloved grandson, Eben Dorr; four sisters, Dolores Rossignol of Saratoga and her sons, Kent and Jason, Sandra Mousseau and husband Larry Ament of Sarasota, Fla., Nancy Fellone and husband Paul of Oxford, Conn., Gayle Trombly and husband Perry of Keeseville and their son, Jeremy (US Navy); one brother and sister-in-law, Kevin and Betty Mousseau of North Chili, N.Y., and their children, Kristin, Keith and Craig; George's family, who were all very special to her, Mary Edna Mussen and family, Catherine and Tommy Finnegan and family, Maggie and George Stickles and family, Barbara Dorr and family, Roger Dorr and family, Russell Dorr and family and Bobby Dorr and family; and many other special nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents, Walter Mousseau and Catherine (Dapo) Mousseau.
Calling hours and services will be private and at the convenience of the family. A gathering of family and friends will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 13, 2008, at the Keeseville Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1505. Burial will be in the spring in the Port Douglas Cemetery.
Donations in her memory may be made to the Adirondack Community Actions Program Food Shelf or the Head Start Program, 7578 Court St., Suite 2, Elizabethtown, NY 12932 or the Alzheimer's Association.
