He was a native of Long County, and a member of Rye Patch Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon for 40 years.
He was a former farmer, Rayonier employee, Morman Feed Company salesman, local businessman, Farm Bureau insurance salesman, and Chief Appraiser at the Long County Tax Assessor's Office. In his retirement years, he found great joy in playing music with the Southern Wiregrass Singers. He attended and performed in many bluegrass festivals and churches in the area.
He was preceded in death by a brother, James Revis Caison.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Shirley Caison of Ludowici; two sons, Tim Caison of Atlanta and Steve and Beth Caison of Stockbridge; three grandchildren: Whitney, Luke, and Hannah; a brother, Hilary and Christine Caison of Warner Robins; a sister-in-law, Agnes Caison of Glennville; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Friday, June 9, at Brannen-Kennedy
Funeral Home, Glennville chapel, with Elder Eugene McDuffie and Elder John Scott officiating.
Burial was in Rye Patch Church Cemetery in Long County.
Pallbearers were Kenneth Blocker, Glynn Courson, Glynn Hutchinson, Jim O'Bryan, Allen Lane, and Clyde Hicks.
