Jennie N. Hare, was born in Harrison County, Iowa, Sept. 22, 1886, died Sunday at Washburn Manor Convalescent Center.
Mrs. Hare, 90, was a school teacher in Iowa until she married Isaac W. Hare in June 1914. The couple moved to Rouleau, Saskatchewan, Canada where their three older children were born.
Mrs. Hare attended Drake University, Wayne, Nebraska, prior to her teaching career.
The family moved to Klamath County in 1922 and she taught at Crescent Lake and Malin schools. Her husband preceded her in death in 1968.
Mrs. Hare lived with her daughter, Lottie Heseltine, Bonanza, 18 years and traveled extensivley in Europe and Canada following the death of her husband.
She was a member of Bonanza Women's Club at the time of her death and was the first president of Altamont School Parent-Teachers Association when it was organized in the late 1920s.
Three of Mrs. Hare's seven children died in infancy. Surviving children are Mrs. Heseltine, Phyllis Rayburn, San Bernadino, Calif.; Lois Stabler and Roland Hare, Ashland.
Mrs. Hare also is survived by a sister Lucy McRitchie, Nipawin, Saskatchewan; 10 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
