Darold, age 91, passed away at Mercy Regional Health Center in Manhattan. He was the son of Gilbert Ray Sr. and Nora (Thon) Dodge. He graduated from Dighton High School in 1935 and Kansas State University with a Vocational Agriculture degree in 1941. He married Zelma Finn on March 22, 1943, in Kansas City, Kansas. He served in the US Army during World War II. He is survived by his wife, his daughters, Rae Crisel, Alvena Spanenberg, Cecilia Smith, Beth Warren, Clare Rehme, and Eileen Rinke, 15 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Theodore Dodge, Gilbert Dodge Jr., Hale Dodge, and Ward Kent Dodge. A Memorial Mass was held at St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Manhattan. Inurnment was in Sunrise Cemetery.
