FREEMAN L. PRYER, SR.

Freeman L. Pryer Sr., 79, of 9722 E. 27th St., died Tuesday, Feb. 18, 1986, at the Independence Sanitarium and Hospital.
He was born in Granite City, Ill., and lived in this area most of his life. Mr. Pryer was a stationary engineer for Koppers Co. Inc. for 45 years before he retired in 1972. He was a graduate of Finlay Engineering College. He was an Army veteran of World War II and a Baptist. He was a member of the Independence Masonic Lodge and a 50-year member of the Modern Woodmen of America.
His survivors also include his wife, Mrs. Mary O. Pryer of the home; a son, Freeman L. Pryer, Jr., and a daughter, Lanetta Whitteck, both of Independence; and a grandson.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Muchlebach Chapel; burial in Oak Ridge Memory Gardens Cemetery. Friends may call from 7 to 9 tonight at the chapel. The family suggests contributions to the American Diabetes Association.
