Gloria Faye Faulk Cannon, 67, of Lake Charles, LA, died at 9:17 AM on Tuesday, December 16, 2008 in her sister's residence in Carlyss, LA. Ms. Cannon was born October 14, 1941 in Lake Charles, LA, and lived most of her life in the Lake Charles / Sulphur areas, other than her short stay in Vidor, TX. She attended LaGrange Senior High School and worked at Petro Bowl for ten years. She was a member of the Lake City Baptist Church. Ms. Cannon was also a member of the Moose Lodge and a member of the Senior Bowling Team. Ms. Cannon is survived by her daughter, Carole Ann Benoit of Lake Charles; son, Steven Kirk Istre and companion Mary Williams of Sulphur, LA; sister, Margie Ann Peveto and husband Steven of Carlyss, LA; brothers, Donald Ray Faulk of Lake Charles and Bobby Wayne Faulk and wife Brenda of Tyler, TX; grandchildren, Christina Faye Mann and husband Dallas of Sulphur and Justin Blake Benoit and companion Brittany Hollingsworth; and great grandchildren, Austin Cade Mann, Devin Tyler Mann and Aleigha Brooke Benoit. Her funeral service will be at 10:00 AM on Thursday, December 18, 2008 at the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend Ronnie Estes will officiate. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Wednesday from 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM and continue on Thursday from 8:00 AM until the start of the service.
