BAXTER SPRINGS, Kan. — Marie P. Talbot, age 97, of 745 Ottawa, Baxter Springs, Kan., passed from this life Wednesday, Dec. 15, 2008, at St. John's Regional Medical Center in Joplin, Mo., after an illness.
Marie was born May 14, 1911, in Baxter Springs, to the union of Silas and Bessie (Murray) Paul. They have since preceded her in death.
She was a lifelong area resident and a faithful member of the First Baptist Church, of Baxter Springs.
Marie P. Paul and Leo T. Talbot were united in marriage Oct. 22, 1932, in Parsons, Kan. He preceded her in death in 1984.
She was also preceded in death by four brothers and one sister. Loved ones who survive include her daughter, Mary Ann Talbot, of the home; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Thursday, Dec. 18, at Derfelt's Baxter Chapel in Baxter Springs. Rev. Jeff Street and Brother Donny Wren will officiate.
Interment will be in the Baxter Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening at Derfelt's Baxter Chapel from 6 until 7 p.m.
