Brother of Francis Peabody, Nathan Stickney Hale, Fanny P., Nelson L., Henry, Albert, Roswell and William David Brill.

Enlisted as a Private on September 28,1861 at the age of 21 at Ogdensburg, New York to serve three years.
Enlisted in Company D., 60th Infantry Regiment New York on October 30,1861.
Died of typhoid fever on January 3, 1863 at Washington, D.C..

Oliver was captured at Harper's Ferry, and confined in Libby prison. He died soon after being exchanged from the privations endured there.
