Williamena L. Sterner
EAST BERLIN - Williamena L. "Willie" Sterner, 83, formerly of Loganville, passed peacefully at home Monday, December 12, 2008, at home. She was the wife of Samuel Sterner, who died November 18, 1997.
Born November 18, 1925, in Riverside, Calif., she was a daughter of the late Albert and Mary Elizabeth (Smith) Gotwalt.
Williamena was a seamstress with Merry Mites of Jacobus for 15 years prior to working for Brown's Orchard of Loganville. She was a member of the American Legion in Dallastown, the Loganville Volunteer Fire Co. Ladies Auxiliary, the York County Garageman's Association, and St. Jacob Stone Church in Glenville. She loved the outdoors and sewing, especially making "Willie" bears.
Survivors include a daughter, Roberta A. Worley of East Berlin; a son, Randy G. Sterner of Red Lion; four grandchildren, Kyle Sterner, Alisa Sterner, Gary Worley, and Eugene Worley; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Kerry L. Sterner.
The funeral service to remember and celebrate Mrs. Sterner's life will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Austin H. Eberly Funeral Home, 104 W. Main St., Dallastown, with the Rev. David Walker officiating. A time for sharing memories with the family and an opportunity to view will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of the service Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens, York.
