Alvin Draughn, Jr. of Ringgold, formerly of the Mount Helen community, died Sunday, March 28, at East Ridge Hospital. He was 71. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alvin Draughn Sr. and Ollie Keeton Draughn; brothers, Lee and Lawrence; sisters, Ella, Lucille, Helen and Reba; brother-in-law, Ronald Mills. Survivors include their children and their spouses, Debbie and Freddie Griffith of Ringgold, Sandra and Ron Gilbert of Dalton, Randy and Vicky Draughn of Jamestown, Tenn., Sharon and Willie Beasley of Ringgold, Rodney and Connie Draughn of Tunnel Hill; grandchildren, Chris, Nathan, Matthew, Jesse, Leo, Jamie, Justin, Jessica, Brandon Lee, Brandon Scott, Byron and Kaitlyn; four great-grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law, Shirley and Marvin Reed of Helenwood, Tenn.; brother and sister-in-law, Don and Eugenia Draughn of Oneida, Tenn.; sisters-in-law, Janice and Roxie; several nieces and nephews. Services: Thursday, April 1, at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Jennings Funeral Home in Jamestown with Rev. Derron Boyd officiating. Burial: Mount Helen Cemetery.
