Frances was the daughter of Roderick Hamlin and Eliza North, who were married in Franklin County, Ohio.
She married John Harvey Copple in Marion County, Illinois on May 22, 1849. They had five children at the time of the 1860 census in Marion County, Illinois. After her death, John remarried, to a Christina Dolson, in 1864 in Jefferson County, Illinois.
