Leah was born in WVA in 1795 and died there in 1835. She was the daughter of Jacob Brake (1747-1831) and Mary Slaughter (who died in 1830). Little is known about Mary's life or family.
Leah had the following siblings:
1. Mary Magdaline (1782-1866) - married Isaac Reger (1782-1851)
2. Elizabeth (1781-Bet. 1850 & 1860) - married Moses Whitecotton (1777-1849)
3. Abraham W. (1786-1880) - married Mary Davis (1787-1808)
4. John B. (1788-1875) - married Rachel Hyre (1789-1835)
Leah joined in marriage to Abram Reger (January 16, 1813, Harrison Co, WVA) and to this union were born 9 children:
1. Celia - my great great grandmother, who married George Simon and moved on to Missouri.
2. Rev. John West Reger (1815-1893) - married Rebecca Anne Brown (1822-1893). John was "converted at a Methodist camp meeting" near the present site of the Reger Church. This present Reger Church is the 4th church now standing on land donated by the Reger family (in 1810). It was through John Reger's effort, that the Methodist-Episcopal Seminary was located at Buckhannon, WVA and still stands today, now known as West Virginia Wesleyan College. John considered this "the crowning act of his life".
3. Albert Gallatin Reger (1818-1893) - married Mary Rebecca Seay (1825-1904)
4. Abram Reger (1825-Unknown) - married Elizabeth McCoy
5. Jacob Brake Reger (1826-1913) - married Phoebe Cool (1827-1912)
6. Elizabeth Reger (1821-1920) - married George T. Pickens
7. Alfred Alphaeus Reger (1822-1902) - married Frances A. Ludington (1824-1902)
8. Leah Reger (1835-1918) - married Stephen Post (1830-1917)
9. Rebecca Ann Reger (1831-1916) - married Thomas Edward Seay
