Brian Kent Stanfield, 49, of Yates Center, Kansas, died Saturday, Dec. 13, 2008, at his home.

He was born Sept. 2, 1959, in Eureka, Kansas, the son of Val Gene and Mildred (Leon) Hull-Stanfield.

He grew up in Eureka and was graduated from high school there in 1977.

On Aug. 19, 1978, he was married to Glenda Kay Upchurch in Vivian, Louisiana.

He had worked in plastics, aerodynamics, newspapers, and was employed at Gates Rubber Company in Iola for many years. He and his wife purchased Star Motel in Yates Center and operated it until 2007 when they purchased the Hi Way Food Basket now S & H Friends Market in Yates Center.

He is survived by his mother, Mildred Stanfield, Eureka, KS; his wife of Yates Center, KS; a daughter, Minna and husband, Joshua Bolt, Parsons, KS; a brother, Kim and wife, Julie, Houston, TX; a sister, Koleen Lancy and husband, Brian, El Dorado, KS; and two grandchildren, Ethan and Jaxen.

Funeral services will be at Campbell Funeral Home in Yates Center, Kansas. Interment will be in Yates Center Cemetery.
