Herman Bernard Kennebeck was born April 7, 1861, in Waumandee, Wis., and soon therafter moved to Wabacha, Minn. He married Mary Christine BUDDE, a native of Wabasha, on May 25, 1887 in St. Felix's Church, in Wabasha. The Rev. James Trobeck, later bishop of St. Cloud, officiated at the wedding ceremony.

After leaving Wabasha, the family resided in Eau Claire, Wis., later in Belen, N.M., and Sedalia, Mo. They eventually moved to San Antonio, Texas. The Kennebecks took an active interest in the affairs of their parish and helped to reect the present church in South San Antonio, in which the altar is entirely the work of Mr. Kennebeck.

The Kennebeck's had two daughters, Mrs. Olivia Edwards, of Socorro, N.M., and Mrs. Marian Becker, of San Antonio; two sons, Edward of Mexico City, and William of New Mexico; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

NOTE RE: DATE OF BIRTH
Tombstone reads year of birth as 1860; however this would make Herman only 2 months younger than his older brother, Anton. Find A Grave contributor and great-grandson of Herman, JSummer3, has documentation clarifying the dates. A Golden Wedding Anniversary, tribute to Mr. and Mrs. H.B. Kennebeck (that was given at his grandparents home in San Antonio), clearly lists H.B.'s birth date as April 7, 1861 and also makes reference to his "older" brother Anton.
