Mr. Archer was born in the Friendship community in Hood County and was a rancher. He was a member of Cresson Church of Christ and had been an elder for 17 years at Thorp Spring Church of Christ.
Survivors: Wife, Bonnie Archer of Granbury; son, Dr. Stanley J. Archer of Chandler, Arizona; daughter, Barbara Sue Ohlhausen of Garland; three sisters, Edith Loftin and Mary Lou Carney, both of Granbury, and Kate Phillips of Forney; and six grandchildren.
